A traditional smear ripened cheese made with Barossa cows milk. Each cheese is gently washed on the rind with a blend of yeast cultures to produce a mild sourdough bread like character when young. The rind becomes a mottled orange with the aroma and flavour intensifying to taste more pungent and rich in character. Perfect with a glass of Barossa Grenache.

The Barossa Valley Cheese Company is the success of Victoria McClurg, who found a passion for cheese after a stint making wine in France. From humble beginnings making cheese at home in her kitchen with her mum, in 2003 they opened The Cheesecellar in the Barossa Valley, where they continue to make artisan cheese, daily.
The Barossa Valley Cheese Company specialise in hand made fresh cheese, soft white moulds, washed rinds and semi-mature styles made from locally sourced Barossa cow and goat milk. They pride themselves on being innovative and creative with their cheese-making, pushing the boundaries as they develop new cheese and techniques. Their 4-year-old La Dame was recently awarded Delicious Produce Awards ‘From the Dairy’ national Winner for 2021.
