The Kangaroo Island Ligurian Bee Co is a family owned and operated business based in Kingscote on Kangaroo Island, South Australia. For over 80 years the Davis family have been producing honey on Kangaroo Island, and in 2001 became one of the first certified organic honey producers. Their beekeepers manage over 800 beehives, which are moved around the island according to the flora and seasons, carefully selecting their apiary sites to ensure the bees forage on the native flora to produce the highest quality natural honey.
Over 40% of Kangaroo Island is composed of national parks and conservation areas, with 891 species of native plants and 46 endemic species only found on Kangaroo Island, the bees collect nectar from plants and trees that don’t grow in any other place in the world. This gives the honey range its truly unique flavours.
